Chest Pain Diagnosis

For the patient who wants medical attention - chest pain diagnosis with regards to his or her chest pain issues, that patient will be made to undergo a series of tests.

Though previous tests have been made on the patient, a series of consultations and tests will still be made to validate the situation. Patient records will be requested and some of the patient’s previous test results will be asked as well.

Often patients who want help like a chest pain diagnosis can be grouped into three general profiles:

The first profile refers to the group of patients with the non-obstructive coronary who had experienced atypical chest pain.

The second profile targets the ones who had experienced heart attack before or have experienced angioplasty or coronary bypass graft which still continue to experience chest pain.

And the last profile for patients refers to those who have complex cardiac history. One the patient has been categorized or has been profiled, an evaluation on the patient will start and this will include a physical exam and blood test.

Aside from these regular tests, more common tests will be adopted by health professionals as part of chest pain diagnosis.

The list of ordered tests for the patient will include:

  • Chest x-ray
  • ECG
  • Coronary Diagnostic Angiogram
  • Endothelial Dysfunction Testing
  • Specialized Stress Test thru the use of nuclear PET scans.

And depending on the test results of the various examinations, the patient who experiences chest pains will be referred to specialized areas where the patient will be made to undergo further testing and therapy, if necessary.
