Lump in Throat Feeling
Have you ever experienced that lump in throat
feeling, a feeling that offers great inconvenience?
Well that feeling in the throat is aberration that needs
attention since normally people don’t feel their throats when
it’s okay. The sensation that can be traced to that lump is
called the ‘globus’. This feeling means that one of the muscles
in the area has been tightened and there is a need for this
muscle to be relaxed.
You will know that you have that kind of condition when you
have the feeling or that illusion to swallow a food item twice.
In general this kind of feeling can be said to be normal or at
least not a serious condition. But when this condition seems to
be growing and has lasted for two or three months, then the
patient needs to be examined. And a check-up is extremely
necessary for smokers. The lump in the throat feeling can be
caused by a mild infection, like viral sore throats. Swellings
in the area whether these are benign or malignant can cause
that feeling. When the feeling is attributed to swelling then a
complete examination is necessary.
The lump in throat feeling can be linked to
the in-coordination in the food pipe of the person. The
in-coordination can be traced to the esophagus, the muscular
pipe and the valve. And finally, others see this feeling simply
as a manifestation of emotional issues and distress. The
emotional explanations for this feeling is not yet verified and
accepted though.
