Rapid Heart Beat Low Blood Pressure
Contradicting the belief of many people that low blood
pressure and low heart rate are related as high blood pressure
means increased in heart rate, low blood pressure is actually
associated to IRREGULAR heart beat. It means that someone
suffering from low blood pressure can actually experience rapid
increase in heart rate as a symptom.
Lightheadedness or dizziness, fainting and seizures
are all cardinal symptoms of low blood pressure. These are all
results of sudden decrease in heart rate. However, there is no
tangible evidence or explanation that would limit low blood
pressure to low heart rate. In fact, it has been noticed that
people with low blood pressure also experience sudden pick up
of heart beat.
Postural hypotension is the most common form of low
blood pressure. This occurs after a change in body position, as
the name suggest, as for example, when a person from a lying or
sitting position suddenly stands up. Blood pressure and heart
rate measurements conducted to people with postural hypotension
indicated that there is indeed decrease in systolic pressure;
however, it also indicated that there is sudden increase in
heart rate.
Rapid heart beat low blood pressure, as others
call it, includes the following as symptoms:
- Chest pain
- Shortness of breath
- Headache
- Stiffness of neck
- Upper back pain
- Fever
- Irregular heartbeat
Rapid heart beat in people with hypotension
may not be experienced by a lot of patients. However, this
causes too much stress. That is why hypotension, even though
not a disease, can be life-threatening.
